M7350-RSHC Shut Height Module

F E A T U R E S

Automatic Scaling:
After the upper calibration and lower calibration points are entered, the M7350-RSHC automati-cally scales the output position value for any point between the upper and lower safety limits. This saves the PLC from having to perform this computation.

Programmable Drift Limits:
TheM7350-RSHC constantly monitors the die position and deenergizes the fail-safe Drift Output if the measured die position moves outside the drift limits from the programmed position in either direction. The drift limit must be in the range: 0.000 to 0.250.

Programmable Backoff Distance:
The backoff distance is that distance above the programmed position that the die will travel when it is being positioned from below the programmed position. The backoff distance value must be in the range 0 to 0.250.

Programmable Safety Limits:
The Safety Limits define the upper and lower safe positions for die movement. The Safety Outputs will be triggered if a Safety Limit is exceeded.

Die Setup Storage:
Variables for 500 single-action or dual-action dies can be preprogrammed and stored for later use. During a die changeover, the Remote Enable (RE) Input allows the operator to select any one of 32 setups (Quantum-only). The PLC can access all 500 setups via the backplane. After the operator enters either a particular die number or die name, the automatic die positioning sequence can be initialized either by the PLC or (Quantum only) the operator (by activating the Remote Start input). The M7350-RSHC senses the die position and adjusts the shut-height to the preprogrammed position.

Backlash Elimination:
An automatic antibacklash routine is built into the die set program so that the shut-height motor will always approach the programmed position from the same direction.

Programmable Correction Factor:
For better precision, a Programmable Correction Factor may be entered for each die so the control motor will shut off in time to allow the die to coast to a stop at the desired shut height (must be less than backoff distance).

Pulse Timing (Jogging):
To achieve a greater precision in positioning, the control motor can be pulsed instead of being run continuously once a certain distance (correction factor) above the programmed position is reached. The user has an option of setting the values for the duration of time the pulse is on and how long the pulse remains off. (Pulse ON/Pulse OFF-Maximum value is 59.99 sec. with a resolution of 10 msec.)

No Motion Error:
This is signaled if the ram position has not changed within one second after the motor was turned ON.

Resolver RL210
Position information is provided by a resolver (AVG Autotech's dual resolver, RL210 with 128:1 gear ratio, or equiva-lent). The resolver is mounted to the Press Shut-Height Adjustment Drive Train (through some gears, if required).
